The 1994 Fox Road Murder Mystery, Part 19: Tammy’s Dad Died. Now What?

First of all, I cannot believe that I am writing about Richard Lynds in the past tense. I was last wishing him well on November 7, a day before his heart surgery, and now he’s dead.

I talked with him on the phone on November 1 for 47 minutes and now he is gone? What the hell? He got through his heart operation, but he didn’t survive the complication of five unexpected abdominal surgeries, and died on December 12.

He had joked before he went to the hospital that he was getting cow tissue for a new mitral valve in his heart, reminding him of his farm upbringing in South Hadley. Here’s his old house, now deteriorating:

When he married Susan, he originally wanted to purchase a house in a rural town, like Monson, but she convinced him to buy a home in Springfield—close to her family in Ludlow.

“Susan wanted six kids and I didn’t,” he said. “In October of 1984 I got fixed so I would never have any more kids with Susan.”

The marriage was marred with acrimony, and I asked him why it took so long to decide on getting a divorce. Things were not good—before Tammy’s murder, but especially afterward. After they moved from Pine Point to Northampton, he said she decked him a couple of times with sucker punches—once knocking him out. Another time he said he called the police, and they arrested her when they saw his swollen, red eye. He said that when the children were growing up, he hung out with his kids when she disappeared on weekends. “I found out about Susan's boyfriend from Allison during my divorce in 2006,” he recalled.

Again, I asked him what took so long to end it. He must have loved her, I insisted. He shrugged. He said that finally, when the kids grew up and moved out of the house, there was no reason to stay married. He drew up divorce papers with a lawyer, put them on her pillow, and she found them when she was on the phone with her mother. “Oh my God, he’s divorcing me,” she announced.

Mind you, I’m only getting half the version of this tale. I know Richard could be short-tempered, hard-headed, and stubborn—so I’m sure Susan’s take on this tale would be quite different.

He found love after Susan. He married Mary, who died of COVID in 2020, and he was the boyfriend of Linda, who was by his side until the very end. Yours truly met Linda this past summerI have corresponded with her since, and it was obvious that she adored Richard, and the feeling was mutual.

It's not my intention to write some kind of half-assed obituary on Richard, but there are a few things I'd like to say about him.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Richard liked working with his hands, whether it be a complex Lego project, constructing a remote-controlled boat, or building a shed. Once you got him talking about the 1986 addition and remodeling of his house, believe me, you’d hear about the entire process, right down to the last nail.

Tammy in the old kitchen in 1984:

Tammy and Josh in the kitchen during construction:

The new kitchen:

Richard hammering away, putting in new second floor stairs before the second floor construction started:

Richard and his father putting in the new bay window in the living room:

The new second floor being built to Richard’s plans:

Construction begins on the back deck:

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

I’m somewhat  surprised that the city of Springfield was playing ball with Richard about plans for Tammy’s memorial, because there was a rumor that the Springfield Police had dragged their feet on Tammy’s murder investigation as a result of bad feelings they had over a dispute he had with the Boston Road bar Mattie’s when he was president of the Pine Point Neighborhood Council. In 1992, residents had complained to the Council about underage drinking there, and this resulted in a hearing with state Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission.

The problem was that the owner had been married to a Springfield police officer who died in 1986 but her family still had strong connections to the police, who also did not take kindly to his haranguing the force over Tammy’s murder investigation over the years.

Still, inferring that the Springfield Police weren’t interested in finding the murderer because of petty stuff—this flies in the face of what the Homicide squad does every day, and that is trying its damndest to put murderers in jail. Frankly, it’s an incredible insult. Springfield Homicide wants killers caught. Period.

Richard launched his own citizen investigation about his daughter’s death in earnest in in 2018, five years after the case file was lost, and he approached a former judge, but was asked to be quiet.

“In 2018, I found many of Tammy's old friends on Facebook,” he said. “At that time, I asked to be friends with them. Most of them did say yes. I then introduced myself to them and said briefly that I knew that they had knowledge about Tammy's case, and I will get the truth. I texted everyone once to see what kind of responses I would get. I got back nothing until here on your blogs.”

Unfortunately, Richard had blundered into the social media world by being a little too in-your-face. In his notes, he pointed out that a couple of Tammy’s friends had shared one of his memorial posts (below), but his subsequent contact with these guys proved unproductive. Things turned sour, and they blocked him.

For years he suspected Ricky, Tammy’s friend and sometimes lover, in the murder—and they clashed—but that changed for a bit this past summer when it became clear that both were former suspects who were looking for the same thing: the truth. In fact, it was Ricky who persuaded Richard to contact—and trust—Hell’s Acres with telling Tammy’s story. Last August, Richard acknowledged that he had been unfair to Ricky. “We never were able to talk like we are today,” said Richard. “My first contact with Ricky was in 2018. I texted him with saying a lot of things that today I know I should not have. But I had no direction to go in. I also started to hunt online all the other kids that I found out were friends or knowledge from Tammy from here phone book. I had a very long list.”

Richard knew full well, especially after Tammy’s case file was lost, that justice doesn’t just fall out of the sky. Often you have to fight for it. But at times he got too combative. Ricky made much of a claim about Richard’s alleged drunkenness the day Tammy went missing—an accusation made by a visitor at the Lynds house—and soon Ricky and Richard were fighting online again.

Richard said that the observation about his intoxication wasn’t true—that he pretty much gave up alcohol and smoking on December 22, 1982. “After that, I might have had a beer at family gatherings,” he said.

And then there was the rumor that Richard had molested and killed Tammy. The main instigators of “the father did it” rumor are, in my opinion, the top suspects. One of them is the late Jason Francis. I believe they told police this in 1994 to divert attention from themselves. I’ll tell you one thing—Richard didn’t kill her. He did rub people the wrong way when he was trying to figure this crime out, so he became a convenient scapegoat for some. But the guy had been going at great lengths to get this case solved. If it was all a cover for his guilt, it was an extremely elaborate one, and I’m not easily fooled. Yes, he lost his temper during this investigation. I can’t defend all his actions, but to all these people who seem to have hated his guts: how perfectly would YOU behave if your daughter was slaughtered?

“My problem has been all the years that no one has been willing to sit down, in person, and talk with me,” said Richard. “I have been on my own for 29 years. All these people have been accusing me of so many things, without asking about my side of the story. It makes it hard to go forward like I want to on this. I hope someday it will all open up and I will get the truth about how and why Tammy was killed.”

And then came his health issues. “I do not want to stop trying to solve my daughter’s case, but I have more important things to worry about right now,” he said. “Will I survive my open heart surgery coming up in November?”

I thought he would survive. But his unexpected death is a reminder that life is precious—that you should hug your family members, and not take them for granted, because they can be gone in an instant. Richard knew that more than anyone.

He is with Tammy now, and knows the answers about her death. But where does that leave us? For information on Tammy’s murder, I was relying solely on him and a couple of others.

In 2023, the last year of Richard’s life, the rest of his family and the vast majority of Tammy’s friends have remained incredibly quiet about her murder, even though this latest publicity—yes, I’m talking about this blog—is clearly the last gasp of this investigation.

Why the silence? Please enlighten me.

Thank you so much for the post, Rich was a good man was always lind and caring to me, I loved him and my heart aches now that he is gone. I know he is with his daughter Tammy and now he knows the truth how Tammy died. I want to thank this blogger for your honest and detailed writing about the Murder of Tammy Lynds. Life isn't fair and we have to live and remember life can and does change in an instant. Sincerely, Linda

I’m so sorry to hear about Richard . He would want the work to go on that he was doing I do believe .

Wow, incredibly sad, all of it. Thank you for your efforts in this unsolved case, and in others. I’m sorry for your loss.

Hi Linda. I am not giving up. We will get answers.

This is heartbreaking to read. Richard spent so much time trying to find the answers to Tammy's senseless murder. Thank you for continuing the quest to find answers.

Like you, we spent time with Richard and Linda, before his surgery. We are all in shock that he is no longer with us. Richard had such a character once you got passed his tough exterior. He was funny and great to talk with. I am thankful like you, that he entrusted us with his daughter's story and opened up his own life to us. You could see the pain in his eyes when he spoke of Tammy with us on our deck only a short time before his surgery. He was excited about his daughter's memorial! Now he knows what happened and by gosh, I hope his hard work will lead us to the answers. Allison his youngest daughter, has no plan of giving up and neither do any of us! Right now she is healing and taking care of her family. But soon enough she will pick up where her father has left off. Thank you for continuing on the journey for "Justice for Tammy."

Hell’s Acres said...

Thanks, Jan. That's good to know. I know your family has been instrumental in getting the word out and searching for the truth, and Allison in the past has been a driving force in seeking answers, and I'm glad she'll continue.

I have faith in you and your quest to find the answers. Thank you

All Good Things… R.I.P. Richard.

I take offense to you saying we were “fighting”, we said what we wanted to say to each other, for all the good it did us. What did you expect?
You have two guys who felt stupid for being silent for 29 years working a cold case with limited evidence, my health issues made me feel to spineless to stand up and say anything years ago, now take our two completely different personalities and perspectives on how things should be handled, of course we’re gonna bitch and moan about each other. This is exactly why people who are way to emotionally invested in a case, aren’t allowed to be a part of the investigation, yet we didn’t have any other choice. It was us or nothing. I think we handled things better than most people would. A lot of this stuff was pretty overwhelming to see in your blogs. I was the only one to acknowledge Richard in a comment on your blog 18, none of your other readers sent any positive vibes his way.

I know Richard was as curious as I was, when I heard there was a pit across the street from where Tammy was found. But him lashing out at me for something I was once again totally clueless about and then that guy coming to my father’s two family in Warren, telling us both that I shouldn’t be talking with Allison or anyone else. Honestly it was all to much and I mistakenly went along with what he said, it didn’t help my dad agreed with the idea to drop it all. It’s really hard to push forward without any kind of support system. I wrote that comment on your first Fox rd blog July 21,2021; asking why you don’t revisit Tammy’s case and no one else expressed any interest.

I posted about that Bloom stuff on a former FBI agents blog as well.
favicon.ico

After speaking with my lawyer Tuesday and seeing this new post Wednesday morning, I finally went down to the court house today to start dealing the Hampden and Worcester county district attorney’s office issues. I have physical evidence that proves you cannot blindly trust Springfield police or any district attorneys. They will alter police reports, create and destroy evidence whenever it suits their interests. So I wouldn’t trust anything they say, get it in writing or say it on the record.

I think Richards biggest mistake was allowing his pain to get the best of him, it cut him off from the people who might have been able to actually help and ended his pursuit for Tammy’s killer before it even started. I was able to avoid that type of issue today, I’m sure anyone in the courtroom could hear the torment in my voice when I spoke up, but I didn’t allow it to get the best of me, I kept pushing forward when the judge said he couldn’t help, I pleaded in front of everyone, asking the same thing I always do. Who do you turn to when police officers and district attorneys commit crimes?
Unfortunately as always, No one knows, No one has any answers.

On a positive note, the judge said I ask a lot of good questions, though he couldn’t offer me any legal advice.

One of the court Bailiffs today was a friend of Tammy’s, before the judge came out, I told him about your blog, he was the only kid who ever showed any concern for Tammy after she went missing. When is the last time Tammy’s case was talked about out loud in a courtroom?

Which former Judge asked Richard to be quiet? The judge I stood before today let me say everything I needed and asked if I had more to add.

Okay… wow… now I really want to know what’s going on here???

The last boy to claim seeing Tammy alive and even said he kissed her, is also associated with your ex cop Evan character. This boy also went to Putnam with Ricky.

This is the same Evan who was accused of raping two young girls, 1 of which is mentally disabled??? Yes I know the charges were dropped.

You claim Evan took this boy, the two alleged rape victims and Tammy to visit Molly Bish’s family, sometime prior to Tammy’s disappearance. Did Tammy’s younger brother or sister ever go on these visits???

This same boy is the one who told Tammy’s mother about this satanic ritual stuff, talked about Tammy being pregnant and reported being threatened at school with drawings of grave stones.

Did Evan keep in touch with the Bish family, after Tammy went missing??? Have the Bish’s ever commented on Tammy’s death???

Did Tammy walk in the direction of this boys house when she was last seen alive??? You say Lumpy claimed Tammy was at a party just days later, did this boy go to or know about this party??? Could Evan have found out where Tammy was staying???

This same Evan also has connections to Ira Bloom, the psycho that just so happened to ask Ricky of all the strangers he could have asked to Rape and then Murder his ex wife in 2004??? Then this Ira guy gets entrapped by Evan’s ex wife and Evan’s very own brother, then sent to prison for 20 years??? What did Evan’s brother get in exchange for setting Ira up???

Did this Evan or boy have any contact with Lumpy before his death??? Where is Lumpys phone???

Please someone respond to all of this.

Is this male friend of Tammy’s, the same boy who told Susan that his ex brother in law who is also an ex cop, that police were paid to ignore Tammy’s case???

The same boy who told Susan he heard a voice saying find my killer???

The same friend from blog 13 that said Owen used to party and use drugs, then said Owen knew who killed Tammy and would destroy the evidence???

The same male friend who told Lou rock and momma rock about certain people being there for Tammy’s murder???

Is this the same person from blog 14 that told Tammy’s mom about running through the woods, having her throat slit and then she was raped???

Now there’s a connection to a guy who didn’t just asked Ricky to rape and kill his ex wife, but this guy brought up that he heard Ricky raped and killed Tammy??? How is that even possible??? You yourself said Ricky was cleared of any wrongdoing doing November of 1994.

Did Richard have an opinion about this boy and his stories???

I know this is asking a lot, but I have to ask anyway. Can you write a new blog with all the of the stories that this friend has told the Lynds family and whatever leads he gave those paranormal investigators?

It’s very hard to keep track of mr diarrhea mouths stories. He talks a mile a minute and constantly refers to different pages and pictures. Your blog, FBI guys blog, Facebook, YouTube, paranormal caught on camera. People have short attention spans. Don’t make us readers work for this.

Anonymous said...

What??? This same ex cop Evan used to buy underage kids in sixteen acres alcohol???

I would really like to know how much of this is true and how much is someone’s overactive imagination.

I’m pretty sure I heard that Molly Bish might have known her killer, that explains why she walked away from her radio and there was no sign of a struggle near her things. Was Molly lured into a false sense of security by a family friend???

Did this ex cop Evan ever take the kids swimming at the pond Molly went missing at???

Someone set this story straight please…

Has anyone spoken to those alleged victims of Evan??? Even though the charges were dropped, they might still have something to say.

Anonymous said...

More silence??? Whenever you guys come up with a promising lead, no one at all comes forward to confirm or deny anything you have said. What’s really going one here??

I heard through the grape vine that Mr Lynds was going to be buried in the same plot as Tammy.
Maybe this is the families chance to see if evidence was buried with her?

Team work, makes the Dream work. Any little bit people have to offer could help immensely.

This is probably nothing. Could there any maintenance logs from Springfield public works or the water and sewer departments? Are they the same?
What about any bridge or street repairs on fox rd that summer?
Who would you even ask about historical records like that?

The bottom of Grayson dr, where the swamp crosses under and over towards Fox rd, would flood during almost every storm back then. Does anyone know if that was because the diameter of the pipe was to small or because trash and or debris would block the entrance?
I guess I’m asking if someone was responsible for checking that or if they received complaints about this issue.

Anyone know why that water has always looked totally disgusting? It doesn’t look like mineralization, it reminds me of the oily mud you’d find at junkyard after a rain storm.

Anonymous said...

That pipe or bridge seem significant and I feel so creeped out over both .

Anonymous said...

A couple years ago Allison was going around telling people she was writing a book on Tammy’s life. What’s up with that?
Or did people ignore her too?

Anonymous said...

No one ignored Allison. She just didn’t feel comfortable sharing what she learned with her Dad.

Anonymous said...

What happened with that PI she was talking with?

Anonymous said...

Maybe your last Fox Road Mystery entry can be about the bench being dedicated to Tammy? Though I don’t imagine there will be a lot of people there honoring her memory.

Anonymous said...

I would like to know more about this bench myself. Did Mr Lynds anyone any contact info to make sure this still happens in his absence?

Anonymous said...

Do they have quotes on these memorials or are there just names?

Anonymous said...

You should think about a podcast. You’d reach a lot more people. You already have tons of content.

Anonymous said...

You need to question Tara Taylor, there’s a lot more she hasn’t told you. Ask her what she did that summer.

Anonymous said...

I would like to know more about this pregnancy.

Tammys’ dairy said she was pregnant 6/14/94 and she wrote at length about how she felt about it all.

Then there’s a different diary with a wild story about sneaking out, this was dated 7-15-94 and there’s no mention of pregnancy at all.

Can anyone explain that?

Anonymous said...

Super creepy driving by Fox rd with the snow pushing all the vines down. The entire area is wide open right now. It looks like a jungle in the summer months.
Has anyone taken recent pictures of that area to compare it to those old summer photos you already have?

Anonymous said...

I didn’t mean to send that last comment. Oh well, it is an ominous site.. With My Lynds gone, you need a new partner. Someone to field questions. A couple people could help you pick this apart in no time.

Anonymous said...

What happened to Lou Rock? Wouldn’t now be the perfect time for one of his shout out and spirit box session videos? Did Mr Lynds give Lou a secret code phrase to let him know he made it to the other side? Tammy reached out to Lou for a reason, what was it?
Maybe Mr Lynds could have written a message in invisible ink and in a sealed envelope? Has anyone looked for anything like this? Maybe a wax seal? Something historical looking. Any blank areas of documents that seem like there should have been writing? Try holding these to a heat source.
The truth is out there, we need to find it.

Hell’s Acres said...

You’re joking, right? JFC.

Anonymous said...

Mr Lynds believed, I can tell you that much, the spirit box always said nice things about him. He didn’t leave you a worst case scenario USB stick with instructions? It’s very likely that he entrusted it to Allison, she might be unaware she even possesses it. She’ll know it when she sees it though, of that you can be certain

Anonymous said...

A group spirit box session is the only way you’re ever gonna solve this case. People need to hear this for themselves, then they’ll know. Just think about it, it’s the only thing that makes any sense. Mr Lynds heard these messages himself, so he knew. This is what he wanted, that’s why he agreed to do all this in the first place. You have to go back to the pit and stand where he stood. Then his message to you will be clearer.

Hell’s Acres said...

I want to be clear: I am not putting down the spirit box. I believe that some paranormal phenomena is real. But what I’m really interested in is evidence that will stand up in court—or at least prompt further interviews of persons of interest, or at least people who might remember certain things about that summer that didn’t seem relevant then. What I’d like is for Tammy’s friends to start talking—it is really weird that the vast majority of them have clammed up. The explanation I kept hearing is that they didn’t want to deal with Richard. Well, that excuse doesn’t hold up anymore.

Anonymous said...

This case is tragic. Even worse are the commenters thinking spirit boxes will solve the case. Nope, actually worse are those that leave a litany of questions thinking someone else investigating fruitless questions/accusations will solve the case. Nope, I'll correct myself again: spirit boxes? Really? Are you f'n crazy?

Anonymous said...

What did the rest of that persons comment say dated august 7, 2019 from blog 1? It was enough to get everyone to stop talking apparently. You said you didn’t want to share it because of the language, but now years later, I think we readers can handle more than a tidbit. You even mention the spirit box and evp stuff in your comment with this tidbit. Weird coincidence don’t ya think?

Just because you pooped your pants doesn't mean that there are supernatural forces at work. It's a different story though if you pooped in someone else's pants.

Anonymous said...

At least people are asking questions. Maybe some random remark will jog someone’s memory. Maybe this blogger won’t solve the case, but he is showing interest, that’s more than a lot of people can say.

Anonymous said...

Sitting on your ass and expecting someone else to investigate your questions is ridiculous. I may not be able to convince you of that but it is true.

Also, asking a million questions as a means of getting to the truth is ridiculous. That's like throwing a million darts at the bullseye. Guess what happens? All the other ridiculous attempts (or questions in my analogy) obscure the bullseye thereby preventing you from hitting the target or finding out the truth.

Also, asking a million questions and then accusing the author of participating in a conspiracy because they have not investigated and found the answer to each and every of the posited questions is ridiculous.

Ask a question that may help solve the case - great.

Ask a question that may help jog a memory - great.

Have nothing else to do except ask question after question that doesn't help the case - ridiculous.

Do more for this case then sit at home thinking your are helping by conducting yourself in this manner.

Ya got anything else or do you have another question?

Anonymous said...

Care to elaborate?

Someone doesn’t like where these questions are leading, that’s the overall vibe I’m getting here. Considering some of the things said in these collections, I’m surprised that more people aren’t upset.

Dude with the threats: nothing like an internet tough guy thinking they're cool while publishing from their parent's basement. Flake off. You won't be turning no one's face into nothing.

You have only just prove my point about some of the commenters on this story. In it for themselves.

Anonymous said...

These comments are beyond ridiculous at this point. Either be helpful if you have info or go somewhere else.

Anonymous said...

You don’t have a clue what you’re talking about, ain’t no threats here. Don’t get mad you don’t understand

Anonymous said...

Looks like who ever is sitting at home, has uncovered something nefarious.

It’s sad to learn that a lot of Tammy’s old friends have been verbally abused, tormented, threatened after her death.

So many innocent people suffered for no other reason than they simply knew Tammy. No one deserved to be treated the way her friends were and it’s still happening all these years later.

Ask a few questions and people start to get angry. No one wants to answer your question, that would be to simple. No you guys gotta leave people wondering and guessing what you’re even talking about, half a story here, share a couple rumors there. Yet people who ask follow up questions to all these stories are causing a problem.

People can see through the lies, don’t get upset when you get called out on it and asked to address it.

Anonymous said...

Is anyone going to get back to that tidbit? I saw a message like that and was wondering if it was the same.!

Anonymous said...

Sounds super creepy to me. Who met Tammy at the pit? How was she killed once there? Omg so terrible. Why not carry her deeper into the woods?

Anonymous said...

Where did this pit story come from? Was someone going around bragging?

Anonymous said...

People with NPD are quick to anger. Gaslighting is a favorite tactic of theirs, it tends to shut conversations down. I say keep digging, keep asking questions. Never give up, never surrender

Anonymous said...

Everyone is so vague, no one explains what they’re taking about. No one feels like sharing details, you just drop a comment and leave people hanging.

What questions are making people angry? Who is getting angry?

What conspiracy? Who is lying and what are they lying about?

How does this all tie into Tammy’s case? Is there a point to anything you guys are saying?

Anonymous said...

I have a repeat question.

Where is that Lumpy audio?

“My friend ______ and I were the last ones to see her the night she went missing”

Sounds pretty haunting to me.

They witnessed Tammy walking up the street, never to be seen alive again.

What did she say to them? I’m late, can’t talk right now

Why on earth would anyone who follows this blogger think he has anything to do with Tammy’s untimely death other than shining a light on a decades old murder? That’s a heinous accusation. By gaining the trust of Tammy’s father, Hell’s Acres was able to share her story with others through this large-reaching platform. Because the case is now roughly 30 years old, the hope was likely that it would jog people’s memories. Perhaps give new clues to investigators. I grew up minutes from where this girl was found; in fact, babysat in a house on Grayson Drive that was set back from the street and overlooked the North Branch Mill River (it was just a creek passing through a very wooded backyard at the time - well before any development took place across the way, which I believe would be the current day Walmart). This was maybe in ‘81 or ‘82. For a fact, several rapes had occurred by that time in the surrounding area. I know because I was questioned by police who showed up while I was babysitting one weekend to ask if I had seen anyone suspicious in the yard during the previous week. Scared the crap out of me and my parents when I told them. Needless to say, I never babysat there again. There was a person arrested for one of those rapes, because he is on the Megan’s Law website. He grew up in the neighborhood and there were rumors whispered about him back in the day. After college, I moved away, but my parents remained in the Acres. It seemed like news coverage of Lisa Ziegert’s murder, the Holly Piiranean murder and the Molly Bish murder all eclipsed Tammy’s, but I’m not exactly sure why. As a parent, I cannot imagine the pain that her parents must’ve felt when this happened. And now, 30 years later, it must feel like the system has failed them. It’s a shame. For the people who are being critical of the blogger here, just stop! Appreciate the fact that he is reviving interest in a case that failed to generate much publicity when it happened. This blog has reinforced my belief that there were a lot of evil people in the Acres area while growing up. Pedophiles and rapists were seemingly rampant. I appreciate his first person humorous accounts of growing up there and his shedding the light on some of the ugly truths that occurred. And I pray for Tammy’s family that her killer(s) are found and will face justice, so her family can finally find peace.

Anonymous said...

Wait…who the hell would ever imply anything about the blogger who only has sought to do hood and get justice. I can state categorically this blogger is an honorable person trying to find justice for too often forgotten victims. This i know.

Anonymous said...

I agree with your assessment of this blog - honorable authors for doing this. But, if you read through all previous posts, you will find people asking ridiculous amounts of questions, that, when they go unanswered (because no one has the time to read all never mind investigate all OR because they are just bat-crap crazy thoughts that can't be investigated) cause posters to accuse the authors of conspiracy/cover up/collusion. You may be amazed at what I'm writing here but it is true. I hesitate asking you to go back to read all the posts left on all these related blogs to confirm for yourself but I would not wish that on anyone. It is ponderous beyond belief.

Cudos to the author of the post previous to yours who felt the need to speak up against those who accuse.

Anonymous said...

I agree with most of this, not all of it. It’s a fair assessment, so yeah I would say it’s good.

Where is everyone getting this stuff? Have comments been deleted and this is the end of a run or was there a secret side conversation and this show of support is a result of that conversation? Please let me know, cause all I see are wise-asses 😘
-
I personally found that all these questions added depth to Tammy’s story. It showed this blogger wasn’t the only one searching for answers and it’s nice to see people cared enough to even ask questions. I would’ve rather heard stories from her family and friends myself, but those types of comments have yet to manifest. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻
-
Is it just me or does this blog seem like a group chat and a few of the people who were invited aren’t really close with the rest of the gang? If you catch my drift.
I don’t think the bulk of these questions are directed at hells acre’s at all. How would they know 99% of these answers anyway? That doesn’t make any sense. It’s more likely that hells acres would also like answers to all these questions.
-
I think people are posting their questions and hoping someone shares the answer with the group or maybe some of these questions are more like observations- hey what about this or when did that occur? I don’t see where anyone is telling hells acres that they need start to doing this or that, or expecting hells acres to do anything about any of this. 🤔
-
I’m not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but hells acres has personally asked questions of their readers and those questions have gone unanswered. So do with that what you will. 🙃
-
That March 3rd commenter shared a long-well written story and it nothing to do with Tammy’s case. Are people going to complain about that? I am happy they shared it, I think any fans of this blog and who have lived in the area, will know which house that commenter is talking about and their story relates to different blog stories told by this writer. 😃 -
I honestly feel like hells acres is trying to include new people, but they aren’t accepting the invites.🤗
-
I really think people need to re-read all the blog posts and think of the comments with the group message perspective in mind. You’ll see when people are talking to hells acres specifically, this blogger wrote a post with all the dairy pages, just because a commenter said something. None of these video questions are directed at hells acres, readers can clearly see in comments that someone totally unrelated to hells acres recorded them. If you watch those YouTube videos, things are presented in a way to seem like a smoking gun or a final piece of the puzzle, but that sadly isn’t the case and it is all for purely entertainment purposes only. 🥸 maybe reply delete to worthless comments, most people do nothing on their phones for hours at a time. 🥱

My Acres friends and I have an old saying: “Be a dick; get kicked.”

This has gotten way out of hand. I’d like to apologize for my {conspiracy to Jay-walking} comment. I only wanted to know who was being accused of what. These comments are so vague and misleading, it gets annoying. I thought it would be funny to add a little levity to the conversation, I assumed my question would go unanswered like the rest, I thought maybe a friend of hells acres would find my comment amusing and would choose the answer on the right and comment back saying he’s a habitual Jay-walker, I didn’t expect people to flock to the left and focus solely on the word conspiracy. So sorry for causing all this chaos, but come on, seriously, what are these incoherent comments before mine all about? It seemed like those people are ready to fight. You gotta agree, some of these comments are hard to understand

Anonymous said...

Hell man I’ll even say my joke I was saving. With all this paranormal stuff, I wanted to comment that you were being compelled to Jay-walk, cause the name Jay was being sent to you from beyond. Obviously not as funny now that I explained it. I’ll shut up now

Thanks for reading my comment. While you say it’s not related to Tammy’s case, it was merely to point out some things. First, commenters seem to have gone off the rails in previous comments, specifically against the owner of the blog. I was pointing out that that’s not fair to do. All he’s doing is shedding light on a cold case. Have some of them been deleted? Perhaps so. But I don’t own the blog, so I have no idea. Second, I was relating my time babysitting in that specific area to having foreknowledge of the dregs of society that resided in the surrounding community who committed violent rapes. While that was 12-14 years before Tammy’s death, it related to the fact that there has been evil lurking for years there. Just look at the SO Registry. While I no longer live in the area, I’ve followed this blog for years and have never related any of his posts to that specific home that I babysat in, so I have no clue as to what you’re inferring. The whole purpose of my post was to support the blogger in his attempt to shed light on a case that has remained unsolved for 3 decades. It would be amazing if something written here prompted a new clue, such that the case could be resolved, Tammy’s family could get justice; and a sick, twisted individual could be taken off the streets.

It would be nice if people spoke up for Tammy, the way you guys rushed to Hell’s Acres defense over a joke.

Anonymous said...

We think that it’s time to call out this unhelpful person that needs a job, by name. Call it spring cleaning 😃 You guys have made it clear that they are NOT contributing to Tammy’s case. 👎🏻 We think being honest and doing this openly is the only way to prevent any misunderstandings, we wouldn’t want anyone getting upset because they assumed you were talking about them. 😢 fragile egos abound.

Reading all of this doesn’t take as long as some people might think. It would be more convenient is all those Facebook comments were transferred to this blog, but it’s not required.
It’s crazy, people always think the worst. This creepy idea popped into my head while reading part 11 again. Tammy’s family found the blouse she was wearing when she left the house a year later, but it wasn’t there when police searched and others traversed that area that whole year.
Killers purposely leave clues to get attention. I can see some psychopath returning to the scene and placing her blouse in an obvious location, so people couldn’t miss it.
I can’t help but think that someone overheard that the Lynds were going to return to Fox rd and they left Tammy’s blouse to taunt her family. The Lynds must’ve been asking questions still,
Also, you can read in part 15, Hell’s Acres mentions that he did hear that Lumpy audio and Lumpy was full of shit. I guess some people feel they gotta do whatever they gotta do to draw attention to the case. Hearing that you got the truth from him would have been a lot nicer.

Anonymous said...

You did a great job Hells Acres, sorry I didn’t say that the first time, my comment was getting long.

To go with my other comment. If someone did placed her blouse there on purpose, It’s crazy to think the Lynds or a friend could have told this person about this trip to fox rd ahead of time and maybe they even asked this person to join. It’s been so long, anything is possible.
It’s just hard to believe that they’d find Tammys blouse an entire year later.
Crazy to think her killer could still be alive and reading your blog.

Sucks people can’t get along long enough to get any answers. I wish someone would say fuck it and just explain what’s really going on. Just spit it all out. It’s anonymous, you can ask and say anything you want. It’s not like readers haven’t noticed that certain commentators have disappeared.

Anonymous said...

When is the next article? It's been a while.

Hell’s Acres said...

I need new information!

Hell’s Acres said...

The blouse hadn’t recently been placed or planted there. It had a stiff quality as if exposed to the elements for a while.

Anonymous said...

Too bad they didn’t draw a map of where they found it. Not that it matters, I doubt any other evidence has survived in that area. Imagine if they found it along the path leading to that pit? It’s easy to assume they found it close to her.

Anonymous said...

We use to call that pit the dugout, it was a lot bigger back we were lads, it must’ve been filled in since then. You could fit 8 big teens inside and still feel comfortable. The walls seemed atleast 6 and half feet high and there were shelves along the back wall with a safe in the back right corner. The floor was made from pavers. The roof was 4x4s and plywood with indoor carpet and pine needles covering it. There were 2 fold up army cots and card tables in there. We used Colman lanterns to heat it in the winter. It didn’t have a door but more of a cover, we had piles of debris to cover it when we left.

Hell’s Acres said...

Interesting. What years did you use this shelter? And what did you keep in the safe?

Anonymous said...

Safe was always locked we never got to see inside. brass handle and skeleton key lock not a combination. Last time I went there was 88 or 89. We kept our pot in a small glass jars behind a few loose wallboards. Never did find out who made it. Maybe moonshiners?

Hell’s Acres said...

So it seems that it was a neighborhood party spot for years. Weird thing is I had asked around and no one from Tammy’s time knew about the pit, but I’m thinking maybe I didn’t ask the right people. I wonder if it was still a gathering place in 1994? Had you heard anything about it being maintained after you stopped going there? Maybe it got a lot shabbier but teens kept meeting there?

Anonymous said...

Yes a spot to smoke pot and keep away from the cops. Quick walk from glue wood. We were down there when two springfield cops were murdered it was all over the scanner. that freaked us all out.

Anonymous said...

Any history buffs still in the area would be able to confirm if there’s anything still in the ground. 10 feet of half inch rebar is $5.

Hell’s Acres said...

What is glue wood?

Did a lot of people know about the dugout or was it just a place for your circle of friends?

Surprised you guys didn’t try to get that safe open with a crowbar or other tools.

I’m thinking the dugout originated as a home of a squatter. Who else would keep a safe in there or bother with pavers for a floor if it was just a party place?

Do you recall how you found out about the dugout?

Anonymous said...

Glenwood st. It was just us. It wasn’t the talk of the town. Good luck getting a safe open with a crowbar. That house on the corner of Jennings had windows that faced right towards it but there was never any signs someone else used it in between us. Maybe someone in public works? Lots of rain run off in the area

Anonymous said...

Bro, why doesn’t Allison call springfield police like that Jenna chic? They just coughed up all their evidence after 20 years man. Dude they got dna, goofy statements. Buddy you need to enthrall us with tales of ridiculousness told by Tammy’s friends 30 years ago yo. We gots to know

Tough break homie. Admitting it’s the end of the road is always rough man. A couple chicks writing about this case ain’t gonna inspire nobody to go poking their heads out. It’s been way too long bro. These last few years been brutal as hell. Lots of people done took their secrets with them to the grave. Game Over

Hell’s Acres said...

Believe it or not, there’s still police interest in this case.

Anonymous said...

Not likely Man. Why haven’t cops put out a statement ever? Cause they don’t care, that’s why. Bro you got like 3 of Tammy’s friends to admit publicly she ever existed. That ain’t normal man, it ain’t normal at all. Even if someone went down to the station and tried to confess. The cops wouldn’t bother listening. Killer is probably dead anyway yo. If people had something to say, you already woulda heard it by now. You didn’t, cause you ain’t gonna. The End

Unless…… Ghost Court…. Where the dead are put on trial for their crimes….. Death is no Escape….. 🤣😂🤣😂😳🤣😂🤣😂

Hell’s Acres said...

If the 1966 murder of Betty Lou Zukowski can be solved, so can Tammy’s. I haven’t posted in a while, but I’m not giving up.

Anonymous said...

Oh yeah bro another sex offender on his death bed at a nursing home gets charged with murder. Wtf this dude probably won’t even make it to trial. Man I can’t even argue with that logic these days. Yo you need a president, hit the nursing home. You need a murder suspect, hit the other nursing home. Just make sure that bitch looks super pathetic can’t walk and can barely speak. Don’t want no feisty mothers being charged

Hell’s Acres said...

“Yo,” what’s with the fake Ebonics?

Anonymous said...

If you prefer I could rhyme, maybe it will help you solve this crime?
Though how I speak really shouldn’t be so upsetting, maybe you’re not happy with the responses you’ve been getting?
Maybe you should try something new, approach things a different way. A lot of you are mean, so few have felt safe enough ti spit out what they have to say.
If this isn’t enough and you’re not happy and you prefer I sing a song, I’ll mix your ass a sappy rock beat, so your readers can sing along.
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣

What’s wrong with you guys? And by guys, I mean men. I would like to hear what Allison has to say, if she even wants to talk after all this. She is Tammy’s sister after all.

What are Allison’s thoughts on Tammy’s memorial?

What would Allison like to see happen next in her sisters case? There doesn’t appear to be many options, maybe police will be willing to speak with her and explain what happened, now that her father has passed away.

Anonymous said...

Why don’t you do a story on Ashley Turniak? That’s another case that should be able to be solved. Just need the right people to talk.

Ricky said...

I’m surprised they haven’t announced a suspect in her case yet. Sooner or later I think they are going to find something on her backpack.

The driver had to have left his dna all over it, when he tossed it out of his car. She probably tossed her backpack into his car when she got in. They pick up all kinds of fuzz and hair.

Who the f is that? Guys should come to potbelly’s. It’s changed

It’s kinda strange how more people that knew Tammy haven’t shared or commented on your blog or on her Facebook memorial page. Not everyone from that age group plays online or knows about all these different pages or sites.

Has anyone thought about putting a poster or video together to use at upcoming 30th high school reunions? Tammy knew people that graduated 95,96,97.

Not trying to find extra work for you guys, but you do have over a year before anything would have to be ready. It’s a unique opportunity that won’t come around for another 10 years.

Anonymous said...

Mr Lynds once told me he had videos of Tammy he wished he had gotten converted. Did those get destroyed in that fire or were they saved? You can have vhs tapes converted to digital very easily these days. Seeing the past might convince someone to speak up.

How can anyone claim that one question is more important than another?
Timothy Scott Joley was just arrested for a murder of two kids in west springfield because of a comment. This guys been on the loose for 46 years.

Timothy Scott Joley was just arrested, he’s 71 and killed a young couple 46 years ago. He doesn’t look like he’s in the best of shape.
